Sstarts is
a Windows based School Administration System which can operate as stand-alone
and on Novell, Windows NT and Windows 2000 servers.
Workstations
can be Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows7
and any combination of these.
Sstarts is
multi user.
Sstarts is
fully integrated.
Data is
readily exported to Excel and Access via text based files.
Data is
currently being exported to NSW Board of Studies, SM Marks and Motorised
Markbook.
The menu driven suite of programs performs all functions typically expected from a School Administration System e.g. recording of student, family, teacher, school, room etc details.
Using this database, users can:
New Features
Full compliance with new State and Federal Reporting to Parents requirements (Extra Curricula Activities and student cohort grade breakdowns)
Text Messaging to parents for student attendance and notification (for example) of Student Reports going home
“Traditional Timetable” creation. This new module allows for subjects with unequal time allocation. It allows the user to build their timetable “block by block” providing all the essential information required at the press of a keystroke.
The user can see immediately what the options are for placing a block of classes for every period of the cycle. When “things become tight”, the information needed to make compromise decisions is instantly available.
This includes;
1. Clashing Teachers
2. Clashing Rooms
3. Over subscribed “limited facilities” (e.g. you are attempting to schedule a 3rd Woodwork class when you have said you only have 2 workshops)
4. Unavailable teachers on cycle days (part time teachers)
One of the big advantages is that very little “extra information” must be entered to commence the timetabling process because almost all of the data required is part of the normal database.
Also, there are no “downloading problems” at the completion of the process. The final products are individual student, teacher and room timetables printed from other modules within Sstarts.
Student ID card printing with barcodes. Early Leavers, late arrivals recording via swipe barcode reading of the ID cards. Also other ID can be applied to the cards e.g. library borrowing ID’s.
Teacher results entry via Flash Drives. Enter results at school or do them at home via data/programs stored on Flash Drives.
Sstarts is constantly improving and having new features added as a result of user requests and suggestions.
